Nvidia releases large-scale physical AI model for Cosmos 3 Edge edge devices.

The model aims to free robots and smart hardware from dependence on the cloud, enabling fully localized real-time environmental perception, visual reasoning, and physical motion prediction directly on edge computing devices.

  • Model parameters and architecture : The model has 4 billion parameters and is built on the proprietary NVIDIA Nemotron™ architecture , with a deep, ultra-lightweight reconstruction for mobile and embedded devices.
  • Rapid adaptation within one day : Thanks to the open NVIDIA Cosmos framework, developers can seamlessly fine-tune and adapt the model to specific robot bodies, autonomous vehicles, sensors, or unique industrial operating environments in about one day.
  • Development efficiency boosted by 6x : The new NVIDIA Metropolis library and skills suite introduces intelligent AI coding agents. This directly increases the efficiency of developing, fine-tuning, and managing intelligent video interaction systems by more than 6x.
  • Seamless deployment across devices : The model is lightweight enough to run on edge GPUs. It will be fully deployed on NVIDIA RTX™ GPUs for laptops/workstations, NVIDIA DGX™ platforms , and the next-generation NVIDIA Jetson Thor robotics computing platform for embodied intelligence (including the newly announced T2000 and T3000 computing modules ).

With the release of Cosmos 3 Edge, Nvidia announced the full integration of its Cosmos ecosystem into Japan’s core industrial base . Numerous industry giants responded collectively on the first day, announcing the adoption of the model across their entire product lines.

  • Industrial Collaborative Control Platform : Led by Fujitsu , in collaboration with the three giants of industrial robots— FANUC , Yaskawa Electric , and Kawasaki Heavy Industries— to jointly explore and develop a cross-industry collaborative control platform based on Nvidia’s physical AI technology.
  • Smart manufacturing and transportation : Honda R&D is integrating it into next-generation smart mobility tools; while Kubota is exploring the development of autonomous agricultural machinery and smart agriculture based on Cosmos.
  • Business Automation and Elderly Care : Telexistence is leveraging its technology to accelerate automation in unmanned retail; Enactic announced it is using the technology to fine-tune humanoid robots to address Japan’s growing aging population and caregiver labor shortage crisis.
